Minis Blitz:
Our Minis traveled en masse to Listowel to take part in the first round of the West Munster Blitz. Listowel hosted teams at U8 to u12 from Killarney, Rugbai Chorcha Dhuibhne – Dingle and Iveragh RFC in Cahersiveen. We had huge numbers travel to North Kerry by bus and by car as we took to the road for a great day’s rugby.
Weather conditions were fantastic as each squad played between 3 and 4 matches. All children were able to put into practise everything they had learned since the start of September and every single player played fantastic rugby. The coaches at every age grade are very proud of their charges and how they played in Listowel. Well done to all the kids who took part, the parents for travelling and to all the coaches for their hard work. Also a huge thanks to Ornagh Ferris and her crew at Listowel RFC for the fantastic hospitality as always. Minis training continues next Saturday at Aghadoe between 10:30 and 12. All new players welcome!
Youths:
Our U14’s and U16’s return to action tomorrow after a well deserved break for the bank holiday. Our U14’s look to continue their outstanding displays to date as they travel to Ballydavid to take on Rugbai Chorcha Dhuibhne on Saturday. The lads are playing absolutely blinding rugby and will look to build on their lead at the top of the West Munster U14 league with 3 wins from 3 matches to date. Meanwhile out U16 host Tralee RFC at Aghadoe on Saturday at 12 O’Clock. Best of luck to both squads.
Seniors:
After a few weeks break due to matches being postponed, our Seniors are back in action this weekend. The lads have been working very hard in training and are looking forward to getting back on the playing pitch. They travel to Mitchelstown on Sunday in the next round of the Munster Junior League. Kick off is 2:30pm. Best of luck to the lads!
Your Club Your Country Draw:
Tickets are being sold by the club for the ‘Your Club Your Country’ grand draw. Tickets cost €10 and all funds raised through the sale of these tickets returns to the club. Ran by the IRFU in conjunction with Ulster Bank and association with all rugby clubs across the country, the grand prizes include cash prizes, rugby trips etc. We would strongly encourage all members to purchase a ticket and where possible sell some tickets, which will hugely benefit the club. For tickets contact any committee member or call Paul Murphy on (087) 3745351.
80’s V 90’s fundraising night:
We have organised what will be a cracking night for all, to raise vital funds for the club. A 80’s v 90’s night has been planned for Friday, the 18th of November and will take place at the Grand Hotel. Entry costs €10 or €7 if you come along in fancy dress from the 80’s or 90’s. Fancy dress is not compulsory. We would appeal to all of our members, players, coaches, parents and everyone involved in the club to come along to what will be a great night of nostalgia and fantastic music. Keep posted to Facebook for more details.
