New lights and 80’s V 90’s night

Seniors:

This Sunday, our Seniors are due to host Rugbai Chorca Dhuibhne in the next round of the Munster Junior League. Following on from our win in the Martin O’Sullivan Cup and away matches in Cork, this is the first time in a while that our seniors play at Aghadoe, so let’s get out and support the lads at home! Kick off is at 2:30pm.

U18’s:

Our U18’s travelled to Mallow in the league last Saturday. A tough match and the result did not go our way, however this squad is building and under the leadership of Pat F. O’Connor, Ger Maher and Denis Reen a strong squad is beginning to click. Though the lads were well beaten on the day, Rob Campbell showed excellent leadership on the day following the departure of our Captain Dylan McCarthy to injury. Cathal Helay and Oisin Doherty were other players of note on the day with excellent defensive displays. Next weekend, we host Listowel RFC in Aghadoe at 1:30pm.

Minis:

Tomorrow our minis are due to host our round of the West Munster Minis Blitz, at Aghadoe. We will welcome teams at all ages from U7 to U12 from Castleisland RFC, Iveragh RFC and Kenmare RFC. This is a fantastic occasion for us to showcase our club, our hospitality and our children’s rugby skills in a wonderful setting. We would ask parents to please bring along some goodies – sandwiches, buns, Rice Crispie cakes etc for the post matches celebrations, where we welcome all players, coaches and parnets to have some food at the clubhouse. The children in particular love blitzes as they get to play against other clubs and show off their skills to their family. All are welcome to come along and we woud ask everyone to be there for around 10:15. Any questions, give Minis coordintaor Liam Murphy a bell on 087-4145662.

80’s V 90’s night:

Last Friday night we held a hugely successful fancy dress night at the Killarney Grand in order to raise funds for the club. A wonderful night ensued and it was fantastic to see so many people come along to support the club. Players, parents, coaches and friends of the club came along and some dressed up for the occasion. We had the Blues Brothers, Indiana Jones, Madonna and shell suits, glitter and ankle warmers were the order of the day as nostalgia reigned supreme. The 80’s music was declared the winner on the night and a fantastic night was had by all. A huge thank you to Helen Sheehan and the staff at the Killarney Grand for their hospitality and huge support.

Lights:

Last Sunday a meitheal of hard workers under the guidance of Club Captain Ger Moynihan, put up the long awaited new light poles at the pitches at Aghadoe. Helped by James Allman, Connie O’Leary, Peter Kelly and Jeremiah Moynihan, the poles are now in place. Well done all and thanks for your hard work!
