Historic day for girls rugby in Kerry
Today our girls travelled to OโDowd Park (Tralee RFC) to partake in the inaugural Girls only Blitz, which saw teams from Tralee, Killarney, Killorglin, Abbeyfeale and Listowel take part. The morning was perfect for rugby as U10โs, U12โs and U13โs played matches in the sunshine in front of a fantastic enthusiastic crowd and had a brilliant day out.
We had girls play at U10 And U12 and it was fantastic to see the girls getting stuck in and making new friends, and continuing friendships forged the previous weekend at the Killarney blitz!
All in all a fantastic day was had by all and Killarney were very well represented. Thanks to Morna and all at Tralee RFC for hosting us, to our coaches Denise, Liam, Peter and Fiona for looking after our charges and to the parents for traveling and supporting the event. A huge special thanks to all the girls who took part and thoroughly enjoyed the day and the lovely food afterwards in the clubhouse.
These blitzes are scheduled to take place at the start of each month where possible and we will travel to Listowel on the 3rd of December for the next Girls only blitz. We will host such a blitz ourselves in January so keep posted for details.
