U14 Pre-season friendlies vs Bantry Bay and Kanturk
Our U14 panel warmed up for the 2022-23 season with two friendlies against Bantry Bay RFC and Kanturk.
Bantry visited us on 17th September, and brought the good weather with them. We played 3 thirds of 20 minutes, which gave us a chance to play everyone on the panel and to give our U13 cohort their first experience of the 15-a-side game. We had the better of the game throughout but Bantry taught the lads a few lessons as well.
On 25th September, we travelled to Kanturk – in the match we opened quickly and had 4 tries scored before Kanturk had the time to get organised. Kanturk came back into the game as we made changes and lost a little cohesion – which was to be expected, but restoring key players in key positions allowed us to dominate the later stages and come out on the right side of the scoreboard.
