It was a historic Sunday at the Aviva Stadium, and Killarney RFC was represented at the very heart of the action. We are thrilled to congratulate our former player, Ava O’Malley, on securing the Women’s All-Ireland League 1A title with her club, UL Bohemian RFC.
In a hard-fought final, UL Bohs emerged victorious to claim the top prize in Irish domestic rugby. While the team trophy is the ultimate goal, there was further individual recognition for Ava. In a move that speaks volumes about her performance and character, she was nominated by her own teammates as the Player of the Match.
To be recognized by your peers on the biggest stage of the season is a rare honor and a direct reflection of the “massive contribution” Ava made to the victory.
Everyone at Killarney RFC has watched Ava’s progression with pride. Seeing one of our own succeed at the national stadium serves as a fantastic inspiration for all our current youth and mini players.
