Killarney RFC Fawns

The Under 6 Fawns program is designed for children aged 5 and 6 and serves as a highly engaging introduction to physical literacy and the core concepts of Mini Rugby.

Our Focus: Fun, Games, and Movement!

At the U6 level, the emphasis is entirely on non-contact, game-based learning where every session is a playful adventure. We use fun activities and imaginative games to develop key skills without pressure:

• Agility & Coordination: Learning to run, dodge, change direction, and improve balance.

• Handling Skills: Getting comfortable catching, passing, and carrying the ball (of any shape!).

• Teamwork: Learning to listen, follow instructions, and play together as a group.

• Rugby Values: Introducing the concepts of sharing, respect, and having a positive attitude.

Training & How We Play

Our U6 sessions are structured to keep things moving and exciting for young children, ensuring they stay active and engaged from start to finish.

• Training: Every Saturday morning from 09:45 to 11:00 at our home grounds in Aghadoe.

• Format: We play short, exciting games that focus on simple movements and skills.

• Events: The Fawns participate in fun, localized festivals and events where the emphasis is solely on participation and having a great time!

No experience needed! If your child loves running, playing games, and being active, they will fit right in.
