Our minis section return to training from the 2nd September and Co-ordinator Liam Murphy is looking forward to another bumper year for our youngest players. We welcome children aged between 5 and 11 to minis training, where the focus is on learning the game through fun and inclusiveness. Every child gets to play rugby and make friends and our band of coaches are highly experienced having completed Munster approved coaching courses and first aid courses last season.
We also have a flourishing girls section in the club under female liason officer Denise Treacy and with the women’s world cup receiving much focus, would encourage any girls interested in playing rugby to give it a try.
Our Youth section under Coordinator John O’Connell – consisting of U14, U16 and U18 squads return to training in early September following a fantastic year.
This season our U16’s won the Munster U16 Development Cupย and will look to continue this success next season. Our U14’s had great seasons last season and will continue to flourish into the season ahead.ย
Our seniors under Club Captain Peter Kelly have had a fantastic season, winning the Martin O’Sullivan Cup at the Irish Independent Park in Cork, beating neighbours Killorglin in a thriller. The lads narrowly lost out on promotion to Division 2, reaching the Division 3 playoff final.
