Red on Top at Killorglin:
Our U14 Red squad rebounded from a defeat in Castleisland with an excellent away win at Ballymalis over Killorglin.
In wet and windy conditions, Killarney opened the scoring early on with a try by Jack Gabbett. In the absence of a kicking tee – Luke Mccan converted the try the old school way by making a divot for the ball!
Our intensity was top notch and we pretty much denied Killorglin any entry to our 22 in the first half.
Considering the rain and wind, our passing and handling was excellent and two more tries followed to leave us leading 17-nil at half time.
We continued in fine vein in the 2nd half – there was no drop in the intensity in the tackle and some good support running and well timed passing set us up for further scores.
The game was excellently reffed by Killorglin’s Dave Coffey and to their credit Killorglin also played open and passing rugby throughout.
