Last Friday night, the rugby community of Killarney RFC gathered in style at the Avenue Hotel for the club’s much-anticipated Winter Social event. Players, coaches, partners, and parents came together to enjoy an evening that was a heartwarming celebration of the club’s achievements and camaraderie throughout the year.
The event kicked off with a delightful two-course dinner, where attendees enjoyed great food, laughter, and conversation, reflecting on a year filled with effort, progress, and memorable moments on and off the pitch. This was followed by a quiz and a raffle draw with many prizes being won (kindly donated by various club sponsors and included a painting donated by senior player Shane Looney’s mother (Margaret) and also another fabulous painting that was produced by one of our senior players, Dylan Manning).
The highlight of the night came after dinner, when the crowd embraced their inner performers for a lively karaoke session. From soulful ballads to energetic duets, the room was filled with music, fun, and plenty of laughter as everyone joined in the festivities!
Killarney RFC would like to thank everyone who attended and contributed to the evening’s success, and a special thanks to the staff at the Avenue Hotel for their excellent hospitality and especially to those who helped organise the event.
Here’s to continuing the success and spirit of the club into the new year—both on the field and in moments like these!
