Killarney RFC is delighted to announce the beginning of an exciting new chapter for rugby in Killarney.
Following the continued growth and success of our girls’ rugby teams, the club is now beginning the journey towards establishing a new Senior Women’s rugby programme.
We are inviting women from Killarney, South Kerry and the surrounding areas to register their interest and help us build the future of women’s rugby at the club.
BE PART OF THE BEGINNING
Every successful team has to begin somewhere.
Our immediate priority is to identify interested players, bring them together and create a welcoming environment in which a sustainable Senior Women’s programme can grow.
Whether you have played rugby for years or have never picked up a rugby ball, we would love to hear from you.
WHO CAN GET INVOLVED?
We welcome expressions of interest from:
• Experienced rugby players
• Former players considering a return to the game
• Players progressing from youth rugby
• Women involved in GAA, soccer, basketball, athletics, rowing, gym training or other sports
• Complete beginners looking for a new challenge
No previous rugby experience is required.
You do not need to understand every rule, be at peak fitness or make an immediate commitment. The programme will be developed progressively, with a focus on creating an enjoyable, supportive and inclusive environment.
BUILDING A PATHWAY FOR WOMEN AND GIRLS
Our girls’ teams have demonstrated the talent, enthusiasm and potential that exists within Killarney RFC.
We now want to create a clear pathway that gives players the opportunity to continue their rugby journey at senior level while also welcoming new and returning players into the club.
Developing a sustainable Senior Women’s team will take time, but the work must begin now.
Our initial focus will be on recruitment, training, player development and building a strong foundation for the future.
REGISTER YOUR INTEREST
Registering your interest does not commit you to joining immediately. It simply allows us to keep you informed as plans for introductory sessions and training arrangements develop.
For further details or to register your interest, contact Molly on 089 445 5489.
Please share this announcement or tag someone who might be interested. A friend, sister, daughter, colleague, former teammate or player from another sport could be exactly who we are trying to reach.
Help us build the future of women’s rugby in Killarney.
Be part of the beginning.
