A message from head coach Kieran Reilly
Head coach Kieran Reilly wanted to personally invite anyone who may be considering joining:
Hi, I just wanted to personally get in touch and invite you to be part of something we’re starting at Killarney RFC.
We’re working on building a new Senior Women’s rugby programme, and I’d really love you to consider getting involved.
Whether you’ve played rugby before, haven’t played in a few years, or you’re coming from another sport and fancy trying something new, you’re very welcome.
This is about building something together from the beginning. There’s no pressure or commitment at this stage; I’d simply love to get a group of interested players together, start training and see where we can take it.
It would be great to have you involved and hopefully you’ll come along and be part of the journey.
Be Part of the Beginning.
That low-pressure approach is important. For many potential players, the hardest part is not the training itself. It is getting over the feeling that you need to already know the game, already know the group, or already be fully committed before you turn up.
This session is the opposite of that. It is a chance to come along, meet the group, and see what the new senior women’s programme could become.
Who should come along?
This training session is suitable for:
- former youth players who want to get back involved
- women who have played before and would like to return
- athletes from other sports who want to try rugby
- complete beginners who are curious and want a welcoming first step
If you have been thinking about giving rugby a go, this is a very good time to start because everyone involved is helping to build something from the ground up.
Be part of the beginning
Killarney RFC is aiming to grow its senior women’s programme by bringing back former players and welcoming new ones into the club.
If that sounds like something you would like to be part of, come along on Friday, August 28, 2026 at 7:30 PM in Aghadoe, Killarney.
Be part of the beginning.
