History was made at Aghadoe on Sunday as our Senior Men’s team secured mathematical promotion to Division 2 with two games still to spare! In a dominant display of clinical rugby, the Black and Red Army overran a spirited Rugbaí Chorca Dhuibhne side, finishing 57–19 and sparking scenes of celebration.

The Match Report
Killarney entered the fray knowing that victory would seal their ascent, and they played like a team possessed. The floodgates opened early, and the scoring didn’t stop until nine tries were etched into the scoresheet.
The backline and pack linked up seamlessly, with Diarmuid Carr leading the charge by crossing the whitewash twice. The sheer variety of scorers highlighted Killarney’s depth, as tries rained in from:

Ciarán O’Brien added the extras with two conversions, and Harry Kelly slotted four conversions, ensuring the scoreboard kept ticking over as Killarney turned the Dingle defence inside out.

The Verdict
While Rugbaí Chorca Dhuibhne fought bravely to put 19 points on the board, they were simply unable to contain a Killarney side that has looked destined for the higher tier all season.
This promotion is the culmination of immense hard work from the players, the coaching staff, and the backroom team. Securing a spot in Division 2 with two matches remaining is a testament to the consistency and grit this squad has shown since September.
